More Bla Bla on "celebrity fragrance"

Do you want to smell like truth OR dare. Because you can’t have both ways. You can swing both ways, but that’s about it.… Read More »

What kind of counter-casting is this? Emily Blunt, who granted is a fine actress, and pretty for sure, but the new face of Opium fragrance? Really? Would Yves Saint Laurent have selected her? That’s like Kim Kardashian replacing Madge for Palmolive soap. It is just not a fit. This sounds like a case of, “Help, we need a celebrity to sell this product!” The ads will have Emily laying on a leopard or something like that, but to put it bluntly, she is a bit to freshly-faced to pull it off. As the ex of Michael Bubble and the current… Read More »

Clearly I am not a Jennifer Aniston fan. Not since last century when Friends was one of my favorite shows and I pined for “The Rachel” hairdo. I still do, but that is because I have no hair so I’ll take anything. No, after observing Jennifer in certain situations (lush) when I lived in Los Angeles, it took the wind of out the sail of loving Jennifer Aniston. Besides, the show was canceled by then and she changed up her hair. When she married Brad Pitt, I wondered if this was a Hollywood gay cover-up because they had the same… Read More »

How many times have I said, “Now I have heard everything”. Whether it was from the lips of a socialite on that silly show High Society or when Governor David Patterson was rumored to have spent taxpayer dollars on blow and hookers, to name a couple of for instances. No, I am not kidding. As though Katy Perry’s Purr wasn’t annoying enough,… Read More »

Yup, because I know how much you have wanted to smell like Bruce Willis since his Moonlighting days. I personally wanted to smell like him when he was in Death Becomes Her, with Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn. Speaking of which, these gals would NEVER sign on to become a fragrance. Back to Bruce. The Bruce Willis Collection includes an eau de parfum, hair and body wash, deodorant spray and after shave balm. HAIR?!? Have they seen him in the past 20 years? This… Read More »

Not too long ago, I reported on the new fragrance, Lolavie by Jennifer Aniston, The Sweet Smell of Celebrity. Though she surely is not the first, and clearly not the last movie star to multi-task while branding, this disturbing trend has taken another bow with a celebrity men’s fragrance, called The Secret by Antonio Banderas. Gee, I thought The Secret was a spiritual quest for garnering wealth. Perhaps it still is…but in case…just for Antonio…as opposed to the betterment of mankind. Seems like the new scoop is, in order to be famous, you have to be brand-able. Well, I said… Read More »
