More Bla Bla on "marilyn monroe"

Just wanted to congratulate Beyoncé on her return to the stage this weekend at Revel in Atlantic City. Even Michelle Obama went to see her. These videos show her process from birthin’ babies to boogying back on stage. Just wanted to wish her the best. httpv://youtu.be/Ut27AvAhB7o SCENE FROM DAYS OF KIM’S LIVES…ALL OF THEM: THE BEYONCÉ KONUNDRUM KHLOE: What’s with the luggage? Where do you think you are going? KIM: London. KHLOE: London? For what? KIM: Kanye is going to tour in Europe and Jay Z and Beyoncé just rented a house there for the summer. KHLOE: Our season has… Read More »

A Kardashian source told Gatecrasher in New York Daily News that Kim Kardashian would “live and breathe to hang out with Beyoncé.” Well, duh. You don’t have to be an insider to tell us something so obvi. Anyway, here’s how that all went down.… Read More »

Manohla Dargis loved the movie Bad Teacher with Cameron Diaz. Need I say more? That has to be one of the worst movies of the year, yet, to Manohla, she compares Diaz to the bouncy, screw-ball comedy actresses of the Golden Age of Hollywood, which is not only sacrilege, but simply not true.… Read More »

Last week, I saw The Help at a packed screening in New York. The excitement around the release of this film has been palpable. Whenever a hugely popular book is made into a film, we all know what’s coming next, but that does not stop our hopes that this time the studio won’t fuck it up. Every twenty years or so a big budget studio film about poor black folks hits the big screen and there is incredible white support for these stories. It is a far different situation than the Tyler Perry genre. The African-American film going community supports… Read More »

Resort has become my favorite collection cycle since the fashion industry realized the value of this critical, transitional shipping period, and more importantly, key press moment. Throughout June, the 2012 Resort collections have made headlines to a fever pitch. Yesterday, Salvatore Ferragamo presented one of my favorite ready-to-wear collections this year, resort or otherwise. Creative director Massimiliano Giornetti conceived the collection with old-world glamour in mind, a nod to the Golden Age of Hollywood when Salvatore first made his name designing shoes for the likes of Marilyn Monroe and Sophia Loren. The collection is simple, elegant, and screams luxury. The company… Read More »

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iH3oOVKt0WI Well, it IS my birthday and I am THE President, of I Mean…What?!? anyway. Perhaps I will take the day to reflect on aging, the meaning of life and why it all seems so fleeting. Nah, too depressing. Let me put things in perspective and say that birthdays are like sunshine. Yeesh, too stupid. Let me just wish my fellow May 6th people a Happy Birthday. No, not my Facebook friends. But rather my ‘in-my-own-mind’ BFF’s like George Clooney. Happy Birthday George.   Please follow us on Twitter.com/imeanwhat or Like Us on Facebook.… Read More »

Fresh off the heels of the most romantic moment in couples history, I am left wondering who we have in the United States that can remotely be called our own royal couple. Enter Kristen Stewart & Robert Pattinson. Don’t look now but the slow burn of promoting the next and final-ish chapters of the Twilight Saga has begun, kicking off with an exclusive cover story in Entertainment Weekly. The timing seems intentional, can’t you hear them in the EW cover meeting now, “Let’s put Bella and Edward on the cover, America is drunk with romance thanks to the Royal Wedding“.… Read More »

I’m reading the mixed reviews of last nights Oscars telecast and wondering how on Earth anyone would have said one good thing about the show. The pairing of young Hollywood’s sweethearts was such a mistake to where it reached epic proportions. I cringed through most of broadcast. Anne Hathaway has no gravitas whatsoever while James Franco was smug to the point of irritating. Sure, when Billy Crystal entered the room the audience stood to an ovation, the message being, “Help, please host this show again.” Anne Hathaway‘s song was ill-conceived, James Franco as Marilyn Monroe was a sad attempt at… Read More »

There has not been this much talk about a dress since J Lo wore that green, Versace scarf number. In case you have been under a rock, I am referring to Chelsea Clinton‘s Vera Wang number. The cover of today’s Women’s Wear Daily declares Chelsea’s Moment, but in truth, it is Vera Wang‘s. Miss Wang, known mostly for her wedding collections could not have asked for a better PR moment than the Clinton wedding. Her ready-to-wear collections are much more modern and edgy than her frothy wedding gowns. Though Vera receives a good amount of attention and editorial for her… Read More »
