London Calling…Let It Go Into Voicemail

Sep 21, 2009Fashion

World Wide Fashion Week. That’s what we are in right now. Soon the fashion editors will feel like they are in that movie from the 60’s. “If It’s Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium”. The poor dears. Gallivanting to and fro…London, Paris, Milan, New York. Oh, their aching feet. After a seemingly interesting and mild New York Fashion Week, the next stop is London, currently celebrating 25 years of quirky nonsense…sprinkled with a few good designers. In 1984, George Orwell’s dystopia, as predicted, was under way. Today we increasingly experience shades of this nightmare world. The thing is, London has a handful of brilliant designers, several of whom ran like the wind to Paris or New York. But you have to give credit to the remaining designers who comprise the quirky fashion scene. Herewith are a few pieces from collections which you will never see on the backs of American starlets, or on Sienna Miller for that matter.

Nice flattering silhouette Antonio Berardi. And B) it's a knock off of Balenciaga...and how many of those did we see prancing around. Sure, editors love bla bla...but a woman does not want to advertise their bum.

I'm a little in love with the cut of the second dress, but yes, the color has to go. and the little fotzy things hanging from it, like chads.

I am proudly and admittedly out-of-it; so what is "fotz?"

Abe – you're a glam god. This is the only fashion blog I read (although I can't resist Cathy Horyn).

Abe – you are hysterical! I nearly plotzed! Your manzie looks – I have to read – it is my cheap thrill!

Thank you, really interesting. Actually,I was born in Thailand in 1969 but my parents fled the country and settled here to the UK. To be honest, I didnt really care much about my Thai past until my mother died recently, now I've been trying to discover as much as I possibly can. Seemed like cuisine was as good a place as any to start ! Anyway, I found a thai food recipe site here that your readers might be interested in .
