Ladies, get out your underwear. In light of the hard hit economy, and the teetering luxury goods business, there’s a great way to be up to the minute in fashion without buying a thing. The answer? Wear nothing. I kid you not. I am not saying buy nothing new. I mean wear actually nothing. Now you can prance around in your skivvies AND be in vogue. How fantastic is that? I’m a little jealous because men cannot get away with that, whereas women can. I have been grappling with myself (schizophrenia) about this lingerie as outerwear fashion trend that has been with us for a while (thank you Courtney Love). The look recently hit a fever pitch since it was prevalent on so many runways during the Spring ’10 shows. The prudish side of me questions whether this overt sexuality in fashion is partly to blame for the dramatic rise in sexual assaults over the past decade. The fashionista side of me says that lingerie has been influencing fashion since the 1920’s and that I should get over myself. Anyway, I am sure I will have these inner conflicts from here till kingdom come so I leave you with a few images and ask you to chime in on what your thoughts are. Have a lovely Sunday.
The ever stunning Beyonce works the MTV Europe crowd. Beyond Beyonce.
Katy Perry works this look well.
John Galliano for Christian Dior made the strongest statement with lingerie this year between the couture collection, which was beyond. He followed suit with the ready to wear collection last month as with his own label, where the 1920's and 1030's inspiration was prevalent.
Here we have the matriarch of madness.
This garters-sans-skirt look is not just an editorial ploy.
Taylor Momsen worked this look during Fashion's Night Out in NYC.
Paris Hilton is no stranger to this look.
Here we have lingerie as body paint. Look no one even notices.
You don't even need althetic attire these days. You girls have all the luck. If a bunch of guys wore nothing but briefs on the field it would look totally gay.
This Burka woman is ready to lift the vail and opt for the lingerie lifestyle. She is dripping in sweat and over it.
I kid you not, this is Syrian lingerie.
How could I not include La Gaga in this piece. Powder and all.
Relax, I know who gets all the credit. Madame Madonna.
This is exactly what my mother wore...under every dress.
I simply had to finish today's entry off with an example of really bad lingerie as fashion as seen on Gwyneth Paltrow. This is like those stupid T-shirts with a printed bow tie/tuxedo thing.
hahahahahahahhaha love them
This trend has definitely influenced fashion throughout the years; however, it's very much the trend right now. And you don't have to wear nothing to be a part of it! Many stylish women are wearing more corsets, matched with skirts or pants. Sometimes they are used to wear over a simple blouse. I think the main trend right now is cinching in the waist; whether you do this with a belt, a corset or some riskier lingerie outfits, that's your decision. Check out some of these corsets to see how you can use them as a normal top:

That website is hilare. It's something that Carrie Prejean must order from.
Wasn't Amanda Lepore the first to do this?? I was told she showed up for a date wearing nothing but high heels and a tiny purse-this was maybe 15 years ago…
You're probably right. Although I recall a certain James Bond movie (name escapes me) that there was bra and panty and a fur coat.
It sounds interesting…Well if you've got Beyonce's body its even better.lol
Hello, I like your put up. I desire everyone would pay such attention to their submit as you do. I came acros your web site on yahoo when looking for a compartment. I will come back again to your web site. I'm sorry for my poor englisch, i am from your netherlands. Best regards from your netherlands!
I have a preference for comfortable organic and natural lingerie, it is more delicate that syntetic one and the cost is lower.
