Icons On The Paris Runways

Jun 28, 2011Breaking Newzzz

Let’s get off the Manzie Report for one minute and focus on the grooming during the recent Paris men’s shows. The iconic references were almost palpable. Some of the looks were clearly inspired by the biggest icons from our youth, be it movies, television, or books. There they were, front and center, sashaying down the runways like the ghosts of Christmas past.

Lanvin was inspired by...

Dr. Spock.

Galliano was inspired by...

Harry Potter.

Alexandre Plokhov was inspired by...

The Andrews Sisters.

Raf Simons was inspired by...

Alfalfa from The Little Rascals.

Dior Homme on the other hand was also inspired by...

The Little Rascals, albeit Spanky.

Ann Demeulemester was riveted by...

Lunch Lady.

Walter Van Beirendonck was inspired by a millions weird things but in this case...

Joan Crawford as Mildred Pierce.

Mugler took his style notes from...

Tarzan, the cartoon version.

Alexis Mabille took a page from the...

Peggy Moffit, the Rudy Gernreich years.

  1. Mateo says:

The guy with the longer curly hair has the look and the body for the fasion. I'm a bodybuilder and would like to see more masculinity, i.e., the bikini, black, cowboy boot's and a cowboy hat with some jewlery around his neck that hang's into his sternum on his chest. Maybe a tight, low-rise pair of jean's. Then show the model's exiting the runway to show off the back-side as well. Sincerly, Mateo.
