More Bla Bla on "gaga"
One does not have to go see Green Lantern in order to see that it is a big, waste of time, unless you are 6 years old and like things that light up. That said, if you are 6 years old, chances are you love animals too, so Jim Carrey’s Mr. Popper’s Penquins will probably win the box office in the end. Well, maybe not this weekend, because hype goes a long way in Hollywood. Speaking of which, when will Hollywood ever learn that not everything needs to be made into a big, loud, CGI romp. And just because Avatar… Read More »
Steven Tyler Style
Get ready to rock. And I mean rock AND roll over to Macy’s when they launch Andrew Charles, the rocker inspired men’s fashion collection. You gotta love Macy’s. They are snapping up every bit of celebrity and now sub-culture to keep their name relevant in retail news. I was pulled into a meeting with them over three years ago when they were just beginning to scratch their heads for what to do with themselves. Though I was close to a deal, the September 2008 economy hit and it was put on the back burner. So far back, it disintegrated. But… Read More »
Leave it up to Sarah Palin, with her grossly misguided sense of self, to launch her comeback from stupidity on Memorial Day Weekend. Kicking off in Washington DC, while grossly using the Vietnam War veterans to pull at heart strings, get ready for a calculated, lame attempt to prove to America, that her One Nation Tour is all about them and not about her. And if you believe that for one second you Tea Party zealot, well, by all means sign up here to buy a piece of what’s left of the Poconos. Sarah Palin and her yahoo family are… Read More »

Rebecca Black Gets The Last Laugh
httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CD2LRROpph0 Last week, I posted the Rebecca Black video of the song Friday and sadly, my server went down. Sadly, I had to take down that post. Since then, her hit song has received over 45,ooo,ooo, yes that is 45 million(!) views and fans including Lady Gaga and Simon Cowell. Say what you want about the song, many people have been goofing on her and trashing the song, but if you ask me, there’s a hint of Katy Perry in them there hills. Like Cowell, my sentiments are, anyone that can out do Susan Boyle is fierce. Period.… Read More »
They screw up the words. Christina Aguilera has been chastised for messing up a few words in The National Anthem. Big friggen deal. It sure beats screwing up the high notes. Meanwhile several states away, Sarah Palin did her usual spewing of nonsense comparing the Obama Administration to the old ad that Hillary Clinton ran about “It’s 3:00 Am, bla bla bla”. What’s great about Sarah Palin is that she loves guns so much, that she has taken to shooting herself in the foot every time she makes a public appearance. She has become her own moose. Speaking of words,… Read More »
Manzie Report: Paris & Milan
Fresh from Paris and Milan, we have the Manzie Report featuring the latest trends, mistakes and mishaps for Fall 2011. The over-arching story for men is luxe, sophisticated, elegance. There were boxier shapes and shorter skorts. No, I am not kidding. Since Marc Jacobs wears nothing but kilts, Parisian menswear designers took that look to the next level and hiked up the length of skorts for men. Let’s face it, the kilt length is not all that flattering, and men’s legs are just as lovely to look at as women’s…especially when they are long, lean and muscular. Collections from Hermes,… Read More »
Twitter Silence = Death
Congratulations Alicia Keys. Not only are you multi-talented, beautiful, a mom, a mentor, a philanthropist, a superstar, a wife, a sista soldja, phew, but your campaign to raise One Million Dollars, launched on World AIDS Day to benefit Keep A Child Alive has been achieved. You can now rest easy that you have more than carved your way into heaven. The campaign was based on killing off the digital lives of celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga, Ryan Seacrest, Justin Timberlake, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Khloe Kardashian, Lenny Kravitz, Jay Sean, Swizz Beatz, Serena Williams, Elijah Wood, Janelle Monae, Nikki… Read More »
OK, so Burlesque is not the best movie ever. And yes, perhaps Christina Aguilera is not our finest actress. Agreed, this camp classic rivals Glitter, the vehicle that made Mariah Carey a laughing stock. But the fact remains, this little musical is as entertaining as any ditsy musical from the MGM musical era, where the storyline is simple, the acting is cartoonish and the music is the only saving grace. But the outright disrespect from the audience at the screening of Burlesque confounds me. The movie opens with Christina alone in a restaurant somewhere in Podunk, with her belting out… Read More »
On Going Naked
Bob Morris wrote a witty piece in the New York Observer today that I wanted to comment on. I adore Bob’s writing. Always have. His article covers the uncovering of people these days. Whether it is short shorts at dinner parties, the Lady Gaga bee-keeper outfit that she wore to her sisters graduation or the current Marc Jacobs spread…literally…for his new cologne Bang, everyone is taking it off and showing their hooch. This phenomenon of people taking off their clothes seems to have taken a big turn when Demi Moore made it OK to be nine months pregnant and nude… Read More »
