Krism Kris & Kim. The Days of Kim's Lives continues...

Oh to be a fly on the wall at the Humphries kompound in Minnesota when Kim charged up there to show the paparazzi that she has a heart. And it’s broken. And she needs to redeem herself because she has been spending way too much time reading the many comments on all the blogs depicting her as a douche-bag for leaving Kris. An urgent call from Kris Jenner when Kim was in Australia went something like this:… Read More »

Oh, this ain’t over, honey. The drama between Kim Kardashian Humphries, née Kardashian & Kris Humphries Kardashian, née Humphries is simply the kick-off to what will be the biggest soap opera saga to hit the airwaves since Luke & Laura from General Hospital. For those of you who don’t know what the hell I am talking about, Luke and Laura were soap opera royalty back in the day and their wedding, which aired on November 17, 1981 was watched by 30,000,000 viewers. Eat that Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event in two parts. One part scam and the other part… Read More »

Move over celebrity fashion designers, movies are the new black.

You all know what I think about celebrity turned fashion designers by now. If not, you have been living under a rock. To refresh, my basic belief is that actors/actresses and reality stars should not think just because they like fashion, that they should throw themselves into the already  saturated market and leave the industry alone. It is the rare celebrity that successfully makes the transition, such as the Olsen Twins with their dynasty. Granted Sofia Vergara might be making a boat load of cash with her Attention: K-Mart Shoppers leopard numbers, but making money is not the only gauge… Read More »

The Opium ads have always been exotic.

What kind of counter-casting is this? Emily Blunt, who granted is a fine actress, and pretty for sure, but the new face of Opium fragrance? Really? Would Yves Saint Laurent have selected her? That’s like Kim Kardashian replacing Madge for Palmolive soap. It is just not a fit. This sounds like a case of, “Help, we need a celebrity to sell this product!” The ads will have Emily laying on a leopard or something like that, but to put it bluntly, she is a bit to freshly-faced to pull it off. As the ex of Michael Bubble and the current… Read More »

The Gossip Girl what?

Just when you thought it was safe to come out from under the falling dead celebrity fashion collections—I mean where is Zooey Deschanel‘s crap, Katie Homes’ nonsense and Sarah Jessica Parker for Halston—comes the worst bit of fashion news yet. Gossip Girl, that Shakespearean television show is getting its own fashion collection. Yes, this is true. Now we will have to live through the painful process of extensive cross-marketing between retailers and a list of television shows-turned-fashion designers. I cannot wait to see what Fox, CBS, NBC, ABC and Bravo have in store for us. As you may know, the… Read More »

You can cram 200 fashion shows into a week between uptown and down, but in the end, very few of these shows really matter. Sure, everyone should be able to start a business and flourish, and Lord knows I am an emerging designer-aholic. But what makes New York Fashion Week exciting and gives it that international sizzle, are the designers like Oscar de la Renta and Carolina Herrera. Why Nicki Minaj was front and center at these elegant shows is more about ploy that plausibility. I guess the old guard needs as much smoke and mirrors as they can get… Read More »
