Two years ago, the tuxedo started going through a metamorphosis. Solid black was sooo over whereas florals and vibrant colors were becoming the new black in men’s evening wear. What is that award anyway? And more importantly, what is this dress that Nicole Kidman is wearing?!? Well, it is from Proenza Schouler, the guys that just the night before won the CFDA Award for Best Women’s Designers. Last night’s Costume Institute Gala was the New York City version of the Oscar Red Carpet. As Joan Rivers will surely attest this Friday night on Fashion Police, there were hits and plenty of misses.
