Gucci continues to inspire the Manzie Report

What is a Manzie? Well, it’s part man, part Pansy and part Dandy. A Manzie is someone desperately trying to be “on trend”. They can be a straight man trying too hard to be stylish or a straight-acting-gay man who acts extra butch in his “quirky” fashion choices to compensate for his nelly-ness. And now there’s a bunch of new options.… Read More »

The Manzi Report 2016

Gucci’s Menswear Celebration is reminiscent of the latest trend in Canada: Toddler Tranny. The Manzie Report has been laying dormant for far too long. Once considered a must-read menswear  journal poking fun at the Emperor’s New Clothes and/or clothes fit for a Queen, The Manzie Report knew exactly who the new, fresh Gucci looks would be perfect for in this transcendental sexual freedom fight that seems to be coming apart at the seems. I give you Stefonknee Wolscht. Just so you see the connection, Stefonknee has left his family to live as a six year old girl by adoptive parents. If you ask… Read More »

the-situation

Yes, I am going to take full credit for Abercrombie & Fitch‘s recent move to pay off The Situation in order to have him cease and desist from wearing A & F crap. Yesterday, The Situation was prominently featured on The Not Best Dressed List besides which, I Mean What has done endless coverage of the Jersey Shore, from seasonal reviews to lamenting on how the popularity of this ilk proves that the end of the world is nigh. While I was writing this, Women’s Wear Daily reported that A&F reported a 64% gain in net revenue this quarter,… Read More »

Yes kids, I am a lady who lunches and was in full regalia yesterday at the Hearst Tower for the 7th Annual Anti-Counterfeiting Luncheon. The illegal knock-off industry is growing, becoming increasingly more sophisticated and difficult to police. The rise of on-line sales is creating a new set of challenges beyond the Canal Street hustle. The task to harness the illegal trafficking of these fake designer goods is daunting, to say the least. The bottom line is we all must do our part to curtail, seize, not support, not purchase and monitor our ports. The list of things we all… Read More »

The Milan shows bring out the masculine guns of the fashion industry. Armani, Zegna and Gucci lead the charge in sophisticated, sexy, masculine clothes. One can consider it boring (some of my readers, you know who you are), but it is at the core of the business and must be respected as such. There is less frills on the runways in Milan, than let’s say, it’s sister fashion city, Paris. The shows got off to a hootenanny of a start here in the City of Lights. Once again, we were presented with the quirky man-hat, a look that I was… Read More »

Several weeks ago, I noticed a trend in men’s fashion that goes beyond metrosexual (a.k.a. frigid bi-curious), which was screaming out for its own moniker…hence…Man-zies. Man-zies are categorically “quirky”, which in men, is never a good thing. From the “quirky man-hat” to overly printed shorts to neckie scarves worn for no reason, like in warm weather, the Man-zie can be seen everywhere these days. It’s the evolution of the men’s fashion industry, I guess, but somehow, even on the runway, it doesn’t work. As the Milan Men’s Shows are in full bloom, one couldn’t help noticing that there was a… Read More »
