Ahhh, The Sunday New York Times Style section. My secured ticket to an I Mean…What?!? And it rarely disappoints these days. No matter how lame some of the articles in The Times Style (remember, this an oxymoron) can be, I will never stop reading it because the Sunday Times is everyone who’s anyone’s ritual. And now with these commentaries, it’s my new, improved ritual.
This week, The New York Times was compelled to leave New York City to go clear across the USA to that cultural Mecca, Las Vegas. Now, y’all, can we agree that there is a plethora of interesting people and riveting places to do A Night Out With right here, rather than schlepping to the cheesy capital of the world to spend quality time with Holly Madison, Playboy bunny extraordinaire, at a strip club no less? Seriously? I am no prude, so don’t get me wrong, as I think Holly serves a great purpose on this planet. Actually, I have a large tattoo on my left forearm that resembles her to the T.
But, do I/we need to read about Miss Scantily Clad prancing about The Strip…stripping? No. If I was that interested in her whereabouts, I’d subscribe to Playboy TV or Maxim. Actually, the more appropriate article would have been A Night IN With Holly Madison…’cause, let’s face it…“IN” would be far more satisfying than “OUT” in this case. My point? I’d prefer to read about cool people, doing cool things right here in my own back yard…Dorothy.
Holly is the best!
Fun post and blog!
