Amar’e Stoudemire In Hoops Of Becoming A Fashion Designer

Dec 22, 2010Fashion

Now here is the fashion trinella extraordinarie.

Not a day goes by that someone who simply has no business in the fashion business gets into the business of fashion. Today’s nonsensical entry into the schmatta business is the New York Knicks‘ 6 foot 10 inch forward, Amar’e Stoudemire. Surely you remember him from last season’s fashion week when Anna Wintour had him sit next to her and Hamish Bowles at the Tommy Hilfiger show. Now there was a trinella if I ever saw one. Word is that Amar’e and Rachel Roy are teaming up to design a women’s collection for Macy’s. Would somebody please stick a fork in me because I am done. Am I the only one one Earth who is horrified, mortified, perhaps saddened by the state of celebrity fashion designers? I would like nothing more than to focus my daily rant on the more pressing things on Earth like why crotchety, old John  McCain is still allowed to speak. Surely all those years in captivity has had its impact on his now feeble mind. McCain’s verbal assaults on gays in the military and his taking hostage of the suicide prevention component of the defense bill leaves one wondering, how competent is he? Does compassion not play a key role in our governance? Does the Grinch get to steal Christmas and our dignity too? All I can say is that I am stunned by both of these things: Amar’e’s fashion line and McCain’s display of insensitivity.

There is a striking resemblance if you ask me.
