Costello Tagliapietra: Draping For Days

Feb 13, 2010Fashion

No, I am not becoming yet another fashion website sticking in my two cents on every collection that waltzes down a runway. On the contrary. This season is dedicated to the People I Lerve, who over the years I have either come to know personally or have learned that they are avid readers of I MEAN…WHAT?!?, rendering them my undying , eternal love. It started yesterday with John Barlett, continues with my first interview for IMW-TV with Fern Mallis and continues with these two loveable guys, Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra. They did a tight, lovely collection…their draping is divine. The earthy color palette was beautiful overall, but the olive stood out as my favorite. I also loved their air-dyed (non-toxic) print that they used throughout. If I was a tragic fem, I would have D-I-E-D over their gift bag bag. But, I gave it to my assistant, who will get far more use out of it. Other reasons I enjoyed the Costello Taliapietra show:

  1. It was at MAC & MILK. I lerve Rassi (his IMW-TV interview will run on Monday, stay tuned).
  2. I lerve the neighborhood for 2 reasons: 1) it’s a hop, skip and a jump from where I work and 2) the Meatpacking District Initiative is a client.
  3. I bumped into other People I Lerve, such as Laird Borrelli and Meredith Melling-Burke and Garth Condit.
