OUT & ABOUT 100
Andrej Pejic is an unconventional beauty and there is nothing conventional about him. Andrej was catapulted into spotlight from the Jean Paul Gaultier Fall ’11 fashion show in Paris and continues to take the fashion industry by storm. When asked by journalist, Hilary Alexander whether he would ever consider getting a sex change, he dryly said, “Perhaps if Victoria’s Secret would offer me a contract. Otherwise I am quite happy being me.” As he should be. The cover girl/boy tops the list of this year’s OUT100. You know, that Gay It List that any queen would otherwise kill to be… Read More »
The fashion industry is like network television. You can keep changing the channels, only to find utter nonsense filling the airwaves. In that same vain, you can go from fashion show to fashion show only to find utter nonsense filling the runways. Paris Is Burning, Part Deux
The Paris shows are where we loook for the answers to: What is fashion? What will we be wearing next season? What length will skirts be? Color palette? It’s really way to much pressure to put on one city. Especially when so much of what is shown is borderline nonsense. I wonder no more why so much of the editorial in Vogue centers around the main French houses, well, that because they are the ones worth featuring. I saw Jane Campion’s Bright Star last night and sobbed through the sheer beauty and majesty of her direction and costumes. The bright… Read More »
