The Politics of Political Correctness

You go girl. We are all sick and tired...of Rush and Cheney!

Did you watch the video of Wanda Sykes from this past weekend’s Corrsepondance Dinner? It was hilarious…as is she, always. So now, naturally, comes the backlash against some of her wisecracks about Rush Limbaugh. I mean…what?!? The fact that Rush, the Oxycontin addict, should be spared anything, considering the venomous tirades he spews on air, with psychotic right-wing, gun-toting, racists hanging in on his every word, is just shocking. He has said things that if a black man (or woman) said it, would be treated much differently by the media.

Political correctness is one of the main motivations for why I started I MEAN..WHAT?!? Once the capitalism system proved to be severely flawed, and the playing field started leveling, the haves were becoming have-nots and vice-versa, then everyone was fair game. You can look a Bernie Madoff in the face and spit at him while bowing down to 50 Cent, the King of Rap (whatever). Our society has become a big bowl of stew and all bets are off. So if Wanda wants to trash Rush, she not only HAS the right, but she IS right. And everyone can just buzz off. Have you heard some of the lovely things Rush has said in the past? No?

Rush enjoys a good Oxycontin smoke.

Rush enjoys a good Oxycontin smoke. Mmmm.

STUPID THINGS RUSH LIMBAUGH HAS SAID ON AIR

“[African Americans] are twelve percent of the population. Who the hell cares?”  Wanda Sykes sure does. And so does our President, by the way.

“Kurt Cobain was, ladies and gentlemen, a worthless shred of human debris.” Yo, fatty, Cobain has a daughter, by the way, who misses him every day. Rush clearly didn’t like the whole “grunge thing”?

“Feminism was established to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream.” Women who listen to his broadcast are sad, lonely, self-haters and need to burn their bra.

“You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray [the confessed assassin of Martin Luther King]. We miss you, James. Godspeed.” I MEAN…WHAT?!? Would someone put this crackpot out of his misery?

To a black caller: “Take that bone out of your nose and call me back.” Wanda was right…his kidneys should fail.

“There is no conclusive proof that nicotine’s addictive… And the same thing with cigarettes causing emphysema, lung cancer, heart disease.” You know why he says this? Because as an Oxycontin addict, he needs to smoke those ciggies (or cigars), ’cause it’s delish. I know, I used to be one.

My point being that political incorrectness should go by the wayside. If Rush can say whatever the hell he wants, so can Wanda. Hopefully, everyone can get rid of their desperate need to say things that are “palatable”. If I want to call Anna Wintour a tight-ass, that’s my perogative, as long as I am honoring her fabulous impact, then the truth about her tight-ass is secondary to her fierceness. And if I want to say that most celebrities are beyond annoying, then, not only would I be right, but I would remind everyone that you are a celebrity in your own mind, so who cares what they say? Stop living your life around theirs. And stop following Ashton Kutcher on Twitter. Are you high?

Every time i see or hear about Rush, I remember Carrie Fisher's comment about him and his Oxy use – "Bad poster child for a really good drug. But he probably has not taken a shit for like two years." It cracks me up. Goes a long way toward defusing my anger toward his bull.
