paris

While we Americans were chomping on barbeque, watermelon and “oohing” and “aahing” over the 4th of July fireworks, Paris was not sizzling as the Fall Couture Shows got under way. There is nothing sadder than looking through the images of Christian Dior, the one show that I waited for with bated breath each season, knowing that John Galliano would not disappoint. I even looked forward to what kind of drag he would sport at the end of the show. There was nothing of the sort for Fall. Or nothing of the short for fall. Fall short…get it? Surely the reviews… Read More »

Ever since Anna Wintour had the good sense to separate her Vogue brand from style.com, which used-to-be the leading fashion blog, it has since suffered the slippery slope currently affecting many fashion blogs as of late. Is it me or does it seem that so many fashion blogs have become regurgitated, un-opinionated non-news? As we wind down 2010, style.com felt compelled to do a piece on The Year In Love, all about Courtney Love–known whackadoo. But not only is Courtney–who yes, has cool moments–a total loon, but in the bigger picture, she is so friggen crazy, that even her own… Read More »

gap, abe-gurko, http://imeanwhat.com

You gotta love the Gap. Well, maybe not enough to buy anything for yourself, unless you are in a pinch, or in a mall while visiting your family. Style.com couldn’t resist competing with Vanity Fair by featuring the soccer hotties. It’s so Sex and the City 2 of them. - STYLE.COM Charlie Sheen is opting for jail as opposed to a 2 year probation. Gotta love a guy who knows that there is no way on Earth he is staying clean and sober for that long. – TMZ Who would want to face off with Steve Wynn and Joe Francis? They look insane. – TMZ I love Diana Agron from Glee. She has been completely underused this season…until last night. – DAILY BEAST Yes, I know, he won… Read More »

Last night was the big kahuna of the New York City social whirl, The Costume Institute Gala, a.k.a. Anna Wintour’s Playground. If you were not there, then you do not exist. If you are not on Anna’s guest list, you might as well just curl up and die. If you are not BFFs with a top fashion designer, then you might as well just call it a day and move out to the suburbs. Sounds harsh? Perhaps…but it is true. The theme this season was American Woman. There’s all sorts of good reasons for this theme since America’s schmatta business… Read More »
