The Not Best Dressed List At The Costume Institute Gala
It is with great sadness that I share with you my “Not Best Dressed List” for the 2011 Costume Institute Gala. Look, it does not make me happy to say things like, “That dress makes you look fat.” or “Don’t you own a mirror?” or “Don’t you have a gay?” or worse. Here are my winners or in this case losers of the evening. The rating system is as follows: F for Fat M for Mirror NG for No Gay W for No Words Please follow us on Twitter.com/imeanwhat or Like Us on Facebook.… Read More »
Last night’s Costume Institute Gala was the New York City version of the Oscar Red Carpet. As Joan Rivers will surely attest this Friday night on Fashion Police, there were hits and plenty of misses. Before I share my best and worst list, I must give a shout out to Stella McCartney. This really was her night. Sure, Sarah Burton was the star of the night politically, but in terms of which designer had the best showing on the glamor-pusses? It was Stella by a mile because she dressed some of the major players of the evening.… Read More »
Costume Institute Gals
All in favor of burning all the one shoulder gowns say, “I”. They seem so last season and the Costume Institute should be the point of entry for what’s new and hot for coming year, rather than the last vestiges of Red Carpet Award looks from La La Land. I just think these ladies look like they lunch. More to come…please follow us on Twitter.com/imeanwhat or Like Us on Facebook.… Read More »
In a stunning turn of events, last night Barack Obama overshadowed Donald Trump and The Celebrity Apprentice as NBC cut away from the final moments of the show to announce that Osama Bin Laden was dead. In light of this, I suspect that Donald Trump will have a double bone to pick with the President. In an effort to maintain his spot in the news cycle, Donald Trump still has a few more weeks of The Celebrity Apprentice to promote and what better way than at the expense of Barack Obama? You can hear the headlines now. Why did they… Read More »

Last night’s Correspondence Dinner in Washington DC featured many hilarious swipes at Donald Trump who sat in the audience. After cleaning off the dozen or so eggs off his face as a result of Obama’s real birth certificate surfacing, The Orange Donald sat in the audience and was brunt of endless jokes. If you have some time. Watch this video. Seth Myers is hilarious. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YGITlxfT6s… Read More »

Who Are Our Kate & William?
Fresh off the heels of the most romantic moment in couples history, I am left wondering who we have in the United States that can remotely be called our own royal couple. Enter Kristen Stewart & Robert Pattinson. Don’t look now but the slow burn of promoting the next and final-ish chapters of the Twilight Saga has begun, kicking off with an exclusive cover story in Entertainment Weekly. The timing seems intentional, can’t you hear them in the EW cover meeting now, “Let’s put Bella and Edward on the cover, America is drunk with romance thanks to the Royal Wedding“.… Read More »
Kate Moss-ish
Mario Testino captured the essence of Kate Moss in this cover of Vogue Brazil, where they are not afraid to be risque. Unlike here, with the horrendous image of Reese Witherspoon and her pursed lips on the current cover of American Vogue. Anyway, in this age of major airbrushing, I wanted to point out that this image of Kate is so airbrushed that it looks like an illustration, where the artist actually used the airbrushing technique. Look, I am not judging anyone here, if I were to be on the cover of anything, the Yaba Daba Doo Gazette, I would… Read More »

Madonna is rumored to be in talks to play Norma Desmond in the film version of the Broadway musical Sunset Boulevard by Andrew Lloyd Weber. That would make me very happy. But a few things would have to happen. Madonna would have to surrender to the director. She would have to allow herself to look and act somewhat demented. Not like a caricature of Norma Desmond, but a real broken, lonely, lost icon. I thought Madonna was fantastic as Eva Peron, and surely, if all the stars align for Sunset Boulevard, this will be the seminal moment of Madonna’s career.… Read More »
The ex-Kate Middleton got to wear two major dresses today. The wedding dress, which we liked, and then the party frock for the reception, which we like. Both were designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, and neither of which were done in the tradition of the House of McQueen. Instead, we have two very lovely, very simple and elegant dresses. The cocktail party dress with cropped sleeve angora sweater was tasteful and understated. You got to love Kate for insisting on simplicity, based on how challenging the British economy is. She played this out like a fiddle. And if… Read More »
